No - With Yoti, you are in control of your identity, so you choose whether or not to add your passport or driving licence. Without adding a document, you can still share your photo, mobile number and log into websites using Yoti. However, to verify certain details such as your name, date of birth and nationality, a valid ID document (such as a passport) is necessary. This level of verification is why both users and organisations can trust Yoti, and each other.
Adding a Passport or Driving Licence greatly increases the number of situations you can use Yoti to prove your identity. For example, supermarkets & nightclubs often require your date of birth. Without adding a document to your Yoti, you will not be able to use the app in these situations.
Your Passport or Driving Licence must be valid when creating your account. See here for information on what to do if your ID document expires.
