Yoti is currently available in over 126 app stores around the world and we accept over 140 passports. Yoti examines the passports and their holographic features to check they are valid and legitimate.
Passports can be validated to a very high confidence if the issuing country is distributing biometric passports (passports with an NFC chip), and publicly publishes their Public Key Infrastructure certificates. These certificates are used to read an encrypted digital signature on the biometric chip and validate that the passport has not been tampered with. People with NFC enabled phones can then read the chip to further verify the integrity of their document.
