Once you have your Yoti and your ID details have been verified, Yoti can’t see any of your personal details as all information is encrypted. Therefore, we won’t be able to provide to the authorities any information on you without being provided with a sharing receipt of a transaction you were involved in. This sharing receipt would allow us to verify to the authority the information contained in the sharing receipt but nothing else.
Whenever you share your information with another person or company, you and the third party will receive a receipt, showing the information shared. The receipt will be available in your Yoti account.
Yoti creates and encrypts the receipt which contains the details of the transaction for both parties. We store this receipt securely on our servers and we cannot access or view it unless one of the parties in the transaction provides us with their own receipt containing the encryption key needed to access the information.
Basically, an authority could only see your Yoti information if you or someone you shared your details with gave them their sharing receipt.
